On August 8th, Orpington Hospital commemorated their origins as the Ontario Military Hospital during World War I by re-dedicating their memorial garden and unveiling a new plaque. Local club Orpington Video and Film Makers (OVFM) was invited to record this important event. Guests of honour included The High Commissioner of Canada's representative for Ontario, and the Bishop of Rochester. The celebrations included planting a Canadian Maple Leaf tree in the hospital grounds. The event was filmed by club members Sam Brown, John and Ann Epton. OVFM are always looking to help the local community by recording important events – many of which also get included in the newsreels shown at their annual shows which show-case the clubs award winning movies. |
