Public Inquiry - 6-8 September 2011
Nine months ago, an application (10/02456/FULL2) to turn the Broomwood pub in Sevenoaks Way into a drive-through McDonald's was turned down by Bromley Council. Following an appeal (11/00081/S78), the planning inspectorate arranged a public inquiry. It ran from Tuesday 6 September at Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, finishing on Thursday 8 September.
Those opposing McDonald's plans claim that increased traffic will cause congestion and make the junction of Broomwood Road with Sevenoaks Way more dangerous. Also included in the plans were proposals to increase opening times so they are from 6am to midnight, which would disturb residents nearby.
In 1996, a similar application was refused: 96/02498/FUL
